This installment of Square's Final Fantasy series promised to revolutionize the RPG world all over again. Set in a futuristic world similar to FFVII, Final Fantasy VIII uses the Playstation's graphical abilities closer to the absolute limit, as we can see in the spectacular media shown so far. The game stars a troubled 17-year-old youth named Squall Leonhart, and tells a tale of love which transcends the limits of this earth.

Final Fantasy IX represents a return to the style of older Final Fantasy titles. The characters are shorter and less realistic, and the party is composed of four characters, not just three. Final Fantasy IX contains wizards and knights and many other old-school elements that have not been present in the previous PlayStation incarnations of the Final Fantasy games.

Final Fantasy X, the PS2 debut of the series, marks the installment in which the series makes the graphical leap to fully-polygonal. The story follows a young Blitzball player named Tidus, who sees his world nearly destroyed by Sin. Following this catastrophic event, Tidus meets up with the rest of the game's main cast, Yuna, Wakka, Rikku, Lulu, and Kimahri, and together they set out on a journey to thwart the malevolent Sin.
