Takeharu Ishimoto Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance
Takeharu Ishimoto, known for his work on Square Enix games such as The World Ends With You, Dissidia, and Crisis Core has worked as a composer with Yoko Shimomura for Kingdom Hearts 3D Dream Drop Distance. This will mark the second time he’s composed for a Kingdom Hearts game with the first being Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep.
Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance OST
It’s May 1st in Japan, which means Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] Ultimania is now officially released with notes from Nomura. Dream Drop Distance is a continuation of the events shown in the epilogue of Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, where Yen Sid decides to put Sora and Riku through a Mark of Mastery exam in response to Master Xehanort’s eventual return, caused by the defeat of “Ansem” and Xemnas in the past. Tetsuya Nomura has stated that the themes of the game are trust and friendship, and that like Birth by Sleep, the story is on par with that of a numbered title.
Mario RPG Yoko Shimomura
Despite the Mario RPG series seeing everything from changes in development teams, to updates in gameplay and characters, there is one element that has remained a familiar theme since Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars graced the SNES way back in 1996: the music. Even though the soundtrack to the Mario RPG games consisted of a combination of original tunes with classic Mario theme remixes, they captured the fun and quirkiness of the Nintendo franchise, defining the entire experience for many. For that, we largely have one person to thank: Yoko Shimomura.
Xenoblade is not Xenogears Square
Care was taken to keep the Xenoblade’s audio component from sounding scattered due to the individual color given by each musician. Tatsuya came up with an image for the songs that he felt would fit each scene, and although he felt it might be a bit rude, he gave sample songs to the musicians and asked for something with the same feel. In the end, the game’s aural component shows the personal qualities of the various composers while at the same time making it hard to see who made what.
