Symphonic Odyssey Concert

On 9 July the Philharmonic Hall of Cologne will preform “Symphonic Odyssey” featuring Nobue Uematsu’s work from Featuring music from Lost Odyssey, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Blue Dragon and others game soundtracks.

Under the direction of Grammy award winner Arnie Roth, the WDR Radio Orchestra Cologne and the WDR Radio Choir Cologne guest performance with the concert “Symphonic Odyssey – Tribute to Nobuo Uematsu” in the cathedral city. Mr Roth has announced that will be music from “The Last Story” included in the play list. The tickets for the evening clock-concert were sold out in a record time of twelve hours. Therefore, the WDR decided to hold an extra concert in the afternoon. The tickets cost 16.50 EUR to 29,00 EUR. Students pay only 10.10 EUR to 16.30 EUR.
Benyamin Nuss will also be in attendance. Nuss made inter his debut album “NussPlays Uematsu “. Last year he was at the “Distant Worlds” in Tokyo in front of 10,000 fans.
Wiki Notes : Nuss was born in Bergisch Gladbach. He had his first piano lesson in 1995 and was given a lot of support by his teacher Viktor Langemann. From 2004 on Nuss had private lessons with concert-pianist Andreas Frölich in Bonn and later switched to Ilja Scheps (Hochschule für Musik Köln) as a youth-student while still going to high school. After graduating from high school Nuss started fulltime studies doing Bachelor of Music at the Hochschule für Musik Köln. He also visited important masterclasses with Anatol Ugorski, Einar Steen-Nokleberg and Ragna Schirmer.
Through his success in German national music competition Jugend musiziert, Nuss was invited to play concerts with the Youth Orchestra of North Rhine-Westphalia. He has played in important concert halls such as the Cologne Philharmonic Hall and the Laeisz Concert Hall Hamburg. In 2006 he received a stipendium from the Werner Richard – Dr Carl Dörken Stiftung and played recitals and concerts with different orchestras of North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2008 he was chosen for “Best of NRW” which allowed him to play 12 concerts in diverse concert halls in North Rhine-Westphalia. He has recently performed the successful concert “Symphonic Fantasies” and is now recording Duke Ellington’s “New World A-Comin’”. Since 2009 he is an exclusive Universal recording artist.
