Full Metal Alchemist Live

This post is also available in: French, Spanish

FMA ( (鋼の錬金術師 Hagane no Renkinjutsushi) is an anime that attracted numerous viewers from accross the world, ranked 95th best animated series by IGN and considered as one of the best viewed anime worldwide. The story has adopted many themes including many different elements of life and human nature in each scene. A story that embodies a deep philosophy of the modern worlds, reinforcing genuine human values like sacrifice, brotherhood, determination and rewards of our kindness and well of purpose.

In order to get the deepest hunger for philosophy and meet our eagerness about Alchemy, we played FMA on FFRadio TV streams  many times,  and just to please our viewers some more we had special days with FMA Brotherhood on, which is a second and very exciting adaptation of the same anime by Bones Studios.

Why is FMA having so much success among the viewers nowadays?

  • The story is about two brothers who strive for the truth behind a mysterious science that was mischievously used by certain individuals, in their journey they encountered many obstacles and evolved throughout the adventure, learning how to demonstrate audaciousness and determination until their goals are achieved.
  • Despite the tragic course of the story like it would seem to so many, it wasn’t deprived of the humorous aspects we find in mangas, on the contrary FMA had many amusing moments, especially the way the Elric brothers react to some of the Alchemist Officers.
  • The series had spirited and tempered action scenes that wouldn’t last for whole episodes like in Naruto or Dragon ball Z but ultimately it’s the colossal and astounding energy that emerges from Alchemy that makes the battles last shorter.
  • The undeniable quality of the anime is emphasized by the precession work that was put into the battle stages and the dynamic moves we see in the anime.

FMA : The Music

The mixture between the rapid beats, rock music and sometimes the tender guitar strains we hear on both ending and opening themes are breaking the covers of an exciting shonen with lot of action to show the humanized aspect and the drama side of the anime. The music was composed and arranged by Michiru Oshima, who won the 5th Tokyo Anime Award in the category “Best Music” forFullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa. Brotherhood‘s music composer is Akira Senju. Both adaptations theme were appreciated and enhanced the reputation of the two Brothers.

On FFRadio we had our friend Vanitas23 making an excellent opening before the FMA show:

FMA the Game:

During the live gaming shows on FFRadio, we had special days dedicated to the multiple FMA games, like Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel and Fullmetal Alchemist 2: Curse of the Crimson Elixir, based on the anime itself, the games shed the light on particular scenarios and reintroduced the player to the main features of the anime in an exquisite mixture between alchemy action and drama. This combination didn’t meet all of the anime fans expectations, but it was certainly fun to role play Edward and use his alchemy skills in exciting combats.

Here are some videos of the FMA gaming shows!

Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy’s first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world’s one, and only truth.
