As a main staple of Final Fantasy fans addiction to the series, the soundtracks are a must-own for many. Square Enix Music has embarked down a new path for the true collectors of the music with the release of  three Vinyl records; some of which are original compositions that are not on the standard releases. So far, the vinyl works have included music from Final Fantasy XI and Final Fantasy XIII.

W/F: Music From Vana’diel was released on June 18, with 8 tracks including the hallmark of that mmorpg “Vana’diel March #4″.”Music from FFXIII”, released February 26th, also had 8 tracks that were personally selected by Masashi Hamauzu. Included is a special version of “Ragnarok Sans Pipe Organ” not found on the original soundtrack for the game.

The most recent recording in the series is W/F: Music from Final Fantasy XIII -Gentle Reveries- and had a message from Hamauzu explaining the process on the album jacket.

 

“LP has become very popular since the last record. We are releasing its second edition at JVC Mastering Center at this time with the help of Mr. Tetsu. Tetsu is a renowned leader in cutting small analog engineer. This second recording has “~ PRELUDE ~” ” Fabula Nova Crystallis”, which is with a large orchestra, but also included is a different selection of “Mountain Yashasu”  and ”Choose to Fight” to play for a wide variety of tastes.”

…”I think once the LP era might now not be finding of new sounds. Some of the songs recorded are remastered all over again and are only included for the first time here.”
