During this summer Square Enix has released its Gamescom trailer for Lord of Arcana, and presented it as a PSP “brutal” Action RPG; the game demo came afterwards on 19th August and it was said that it has been downloaded over 1,000,000 times. Two days ago the game became available  in Japan. It was released on 14th October. North American and European releases are planned for 2011, at a price of $39.99,  but no further details about the date were given yet.

Lord of Arcana looks extremely similar to the concept of monster hunting that we find in the Monster Hunter series and God Eater. Indeed, the player will create a fighter, his Monster Slayer!, then the hunting will begin, chasing the most powerful monsters that are available. The title also has a 4 player option, making the hunting even more enjoyable!

Compared to the other monster hunting games, Lord Of Arcada has brought an interesting and varied bestiary including strands of legendary monsters and other mythological or fantastical beings, for instance: Minotaurs, goblins, succubi

Larry Sparks, vice president of brands of Square Enix Ltd. stated:

“With incredible visuals and non-stop action, mixed with great multiplayer co-op and creatures designed by a variety of world-famous illustrators, Lord of Arcana is not to be missed when it comes to the PSP system”.

In Lord of Arcana players are plunged into the dark depths of the underworld to fight vast and powerful creatures of legend in their quest to obtain the power of Arcana. This world is called Horodyn, so named for its first king.

At the edge of a village surrounded by a huge forest lies the powerful stone Arcana, the source of all order in the world. It is said that only one with power can acquire Arcana. Slayers annihilate hordes of monsters so that they could lay their hands on Arcana.
